Our mission at Awakening Ministries is to bring the teachings of Christ to life, applying them to body, mind, soul, and Spirit, leaving believers firmly rooted, deeply transformed, and passionately alive. We believe a vibrant relationship with Christ is deeply life-giving, and His teachings when fully understood and applied, lead to a solid identity that empowers women to live out their greater purpose in life. Our goal is to provide opportunities for believers to experience honest vulnerability, safety in community, healing, and transformative faith.
Awakening ministries was started by co-founders Alia Fisher and Kristy Peatrowsky. Kristy has served for many years as a women's pastor, has used her gifts of creativity to organize a variety of large events for her church and her community. Alia is the co-founder of Praise in Motion, a Christian movement ministry, and is graduating with a masters in Professional Christian Counseling. Kristy's long-term vision of creating a transformational women's retreat connected with Alia's conviction and deep love for helping women find greater freedom. Together they began creating various women's retreats and many detours and life lessons later they officially launched Awakening Ministries in 2019.
Statement of Faith
Awakening Ministries is, at our core foundation, a religious/spiritual organization and our principles are rooted in the Word of God.
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the creator and ruler of all things and the redeemer of mankind.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins and God raised him from the dead on the third day.
The Holy Spirit is our guide and comforter. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to fulfill God’s vision and purpose for their lives by indwelling the body of a confessed believer in Christ.
People are created by God to worship Him and have a personal relationship with Him.
Salvation is a gift offered to us by God’s grace apart from any personal work or achievement. Salvation from our human condition of brokenness/sin is the common need of all people and can only be found through Jesus Christ.
The appropriate response to God’s grace is to believe, repent, confess, be baptized, and partner our lives with Jesus and His mission.
The Bible is the authoritative Word of God which guides all we say and do. It is truth without error (although subject to human misinterpretation), and it is the source for knowing God’s will for our lives.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
With her greatest passions being Christian ministry and spiritual formation, Alia has been actively designing and leading transformational women’s retreats since 2013. About to complete her MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, she is currently an intern at Cornerstone Christian Counseling, seeing clients several days a week. In addition, she completed Level 3 healing prayer training from Christian Healing Ministries and Level 1 SOZO training, and greatly enjoys bringing her spiritual training into helping both clients and members of her church. Alia is also a co-founder of Praise in Motion, a Christian movement ministry founded in 2011, that allows women to experience freedom and healing within their bodies while connecting with God. She leads weekly classes and helps train new leaders. Mother of four busy children and married to Wyatt, in her free time she loves slipping away into the quiet outdoors or doing difficult puzzles.
Kristy has been highly engaged in ministry since 2005. She worked as a Women's and Children's pastor for many years and has organized large outreach events, retreats, and fundraisers for a variety of different organizations and ministries. She is a mother of four young children and is happily married to her husband Eric, who is also in ministry. She is passionate about seeing people grow deeply in their relationship with Jesus Christ and is thrilled to get to be a co-founder of Awakening Ministries. When she is not busy in ministry, she is volunteering, teaching art classes, writing, and is an un-paid Uber driver for her four kids.
